Quan Mei was one of the 60 local artists to design and exhibit her barbie at Marina Square for a meaningful cause in helping underprivileged children's dreams take flight, in partnership with Singapore Red Cross Young Hearts programme which provides academic support and mentorship for children and youth from challenging backgrounds.

Where Black Blooms

 

She is a quiet bloom in the night—a reminder that even in darkness, beauty grows. Draped in monochrome botanicals, she doesn’t realise it yet—but she is already blooming, even in the darkest nights.

 

The pearls echo the purity and wonder of childhood, like bubbles rising in the air. Hovering above a sea of cotton clouds, she drifts freely—chasing dreams, weightless and free — one step, one leap, one cloud at a time.

 

This Barbie is for every child who waits in the dark, holding on to hope, trusting that something beautiful will bloom out of the night.
